TIF President met with EBRD First Vice-President
On 7 June 2026, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), met with Mr. Gregory Guyett, First Vice-President and Head of Client Services Group of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), on the margins of the 2026 EBRD Annual Meeting and Business Forum in Riga, Latvia.
TIF delegation included Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director; Ms. Betül Sarıkaya, Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Sanjar Usmanov, Chief Investment Officer; and Mr. Mehmet Esat Mert, Director for International Relations, Capital Mobilization and Treasury.
Senior EBRD representatives joined the meeting, including Ms. Elisabetta Falcetti, Managing Director for Türkiye and the Caucasus; Mr. Hüseyin Özhan, Managing Director for Central Asia and Mongolia; and Mr. Matteo Colangeli, Regional Director for the Western Balkans.
H.E. Baghdad Amreyev highlighted the progress achieved in cooperation between the two institutions following his meeting with H.E. Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the EBRD, at EBRD Headquarters in London in January 2026. He stressed that closer cooperation with EBRD, one of the most important partners of TIF Member States, is fully aligned with TIF’s top priorities. He also emphasized the importance of developing pilot projects that can serve as the foundation for a long-term and impactful partnership.
Mr. Gregory Guyett welcomed the growing cooperation between the EBRD and TIF and noted that the first joint projects of the two institutions, namely, the RSF PLUS concept, offer an important practical channel for further transactions. He recognized TIF’s role as an emerging regional co-financing partner and highlighted strong potential for cooperation to support MSMEs, inclusive finance, and regional trade. The EBRD delegation also confirmed its readiness to continue technical work with TIF and move the proposed transaction towards implementation.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared interest of TIF and the EBRD in maintaining engagement to identify further opportunities for cooperation and advance areas of mutual interest.
