On 25, 26 September 2026, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund, accompanied by Mr. Sanjar Usmanov, Chief Investment Officer of TIF, participated in the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum in Baku.

The two-day Forum, taking place under the patronage of H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, brought together government representatives, international financial institutions, investors, and business leaders.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev spoke in Baku at the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum. The main themes were building confidence, developing the South Caucasus, and enhancing Azerbaijan's investment appeal

President Ilham Aliyev stressed on emerging possibilities for trade and investment in the South Caucasus region and referred to Azerbaijan’s location along the East-West and North-South routes and said the Middle Corridor is becoming more important in connecting Central Asia, across the Caspian Sea, with the South Caucasus, Türkiye and Europe.

H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, said businesses and governments are reassessing where to invest, which areas to prioritize, whom to trade with and which relationships to trust. He added that Azerbaijan is seeking to strengthen ties between regions and create more economic value from its transport and connectivity links.

H.E. Baghdad Amreyev addressed the panel titled “Azerbaijan at the Center of South Caucasus–Central Asia Strategic Partnerships: The Key Driver of Regional Cooperation,” which brought together senior representatives of governments, international organizations, financial institutions and the private sector.

In his remarks, B. Amreyev said the creation of the Turkic Investment Fund opened a new stage in cooperation among the Turkic countries by giving them a financial institution capable of turning common economic interests into joint investment projects and lead to further integration among them. He said the Fund will give priority to projects that create business links across borders, connect national investment priorities with regional opportunities, and attract more international and private capital to the Turkic region.

Referring to the Middle Corridor, B. Amreyev said closer links between Central Asia and the South Caucasus should go beyond transit and lead to more production and investment along the route. He called for stronger connections between industrial zones and greater participation by companies from Turkic countries in each other’s investment projects and production chains, helping these countries develop into a more connected economic space and integration process.
