TIF President Participates in Astana Finance Days 2026

Astana, 9 September 2026 — H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), participated in Astana Finance Days (AFD) 2026, a two-day international forum held under the theme “Delivering Impact. Capital in Action.”

The forum brought together government officials, international financial institutions, regulators, investors, financial institutions and business leaders to discuss investment, capital markets, financial innovation and regional cooperation.

On the first day of the forum, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev delivered opening remarks at the Second Annual Meeting of the Turkic Green Finance Council, held on the sidelines of AFD 2026. The opening session was also addressed by H.E. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, and Ms. Evgeniya Bogdanova, CEO of the Astana Financial Services Authority.

In his remarks, President Amreyev stressed the importance of translating green priorities into well-prepared, bankable projects capable of attracting financing from international financial institutions, development partners and domestic capital markets.

He reaffirmed TIF’s readiness to finance priority green projects across its Member States and to cooperate with financial institutions and investors in mobilizing additional capital. Renewable energy, energy efficiency, cleaner production and climate-resilient infrastructure were highlighted among the areas offering significant potential for cooperation among the Turkic states.

President Amreyev also welcomed the broader use of Islamic finance instruments to support sustainable investment across the region.

The Council discussed carbon markets and nature-based solutions, sustainable finance governance, as well as capacity building and professional training. The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint Communiqué.

Later in the day, the TIF delegation attended the Plenary Session and Official Ceremony of Astana Finance Days 2026. The plenary session, “Rewiring the Architecture of Finance,” brought together senior representatives of the finance, investment and technology sectors to discuss the transformation of the global financial system, the growing role of technology and regulation, and new approaches to mobilizing capital.
