TIF President Met with the Vice President of IsDB

On 17 June 2026, during the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) in Baku, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF, the Fund), held a meeting with H.E. Dr. Abdourabbih Abdouss, Officer-in-Charge, Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer of IsDB.

The IsDB Group was also represented by Dr. Issa Faye, Director General for Global Practice and Partnerships, Mr. Mohamed Sharaf, Director of the Treasury Department, and other senior representatives. The President of TIF was joined by Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director, Ms. Betül Sarıkaya, Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Sanjar Usmanov, Chief Investment Officer, and Mr. Mehmet Esat Mert, Director for International Relations, Capital Mobilization and Treasury.

The meeting focused on cooperation between TIF and the IsDB Group, including co-financing in common member countries, treasury and liquidity cooperation, Islamic finance, trade finance, guarantees, private sector support, and knowledge sharing.

H.E. Baghdad Amreye noted that IsDB is a natural partner for the Fund, given their shared interest in regional cooperation. The President of TIF updated the IsDB side on TIF’s institutional progress and growing engagement with international financial institutions, and proposed focusing cooperation with IsDB on a few clear areas after the Annual Meetings in Baku.

H.E. Dr. Abdourabbih Abdouss acknowledged TIF’s progress and the growing practical cooperation between the two institutions. He referred to areas where IsDB’s experience can be useful for TIF, and welcomed TIF’s engagement with IsDB Group entities, including ICD, ITFC, and ICIEC, and noted that this can help identify joint opportunities in common member countries.

Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director of TIF, briefed the IsDB side on the Fund’s current operational work and expressed TIF’s readiness to continue working-level discussions with IsDB and IsDB Group entities on areas where further cooperation can be developed.

The sides agreed to continue technical discussions and identify practical ways for TIF and the IsDB Group to further develop cooperation, including in innovative financing and treasury operations.
