TIF President met with Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan in Astana
On 2 July 2026, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF, the Fund), met in Astana with H.E. Mr. Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Kazakhstan’s Governor on the TIF Board of Governors.
H.E. Baghdad Amreyev thanked the Government of Kazakhstan and H.E. Mr. Zhumangarin for their support to TIF. He briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the Fund’s recent progress, including its first co-financing operation with EBRD and the signing of a Managed Islamic Co-Financing Program with ICD. B. Amreyev said TIF is now moving into a more practical phase and would welcome Kazakhstan’s guidance on projects where the Fund can be useful.
H.E. Mr. Serik Zhumangarin welcomed TIF’s progress and confirmed Kazakhstan’s continued support for the Fund. He said that, as a joint financial institution of the Turkic countries, TIF should prioritize more direct financing for real sector projects that visibly contribute to the economic integration of the Turkic countries. He noted that Kazakhstan is ready to work with TIF to identify such projects.
The Parties also exchanged views on the agenda and preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Board of Governors.
