TIF President Meets with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy

On 18 June 2026, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF, the Fund), held a meeting in Baku with H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Governor of TIF. The Minister was accompanied by First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Elnur Aliyev and Chairman of the Azerbaijan Development Bank Ulvi Mansurov.

The TIF President was accompanied by Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director; Ms. Betül Sarıkaya, Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Sanjar Usmanov, Chief Investment Officer; and Mr. Zsolt Csanádi, Chief Legal and Operations Officer.

The meeting took place during the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), hosted by the Government of Azerbaijan. H.E. Baghdad Amreyev congratulated Azerbaijan on successfully hosting this important international economic event and expressed appreciation for the country’s continued support to the Fund. He updated Minister Jabbarov on TIF’s recent progress, its expanding cooperation with international financial institutions, potential co-financing opportunities with reliable partners, and preparations for the next meeting of the Board of Governors.

H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov expressed satisfaction with TIF’s progress and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s continued support for the Fund. He noted that TIF can help advance economic cooperation among Turkic countries through practical, project-based initiatives in Member States. The Minister also confirmed the Ministry’s readiness to support TIF as it further develops its activities in Azerbaijan.

Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director of TIF, briefed the Azerbaijani delegation on the Fund’s ongoing operational activities and recent engagements with Azerbaijani institutions and companies. He noted that these interactions help the Fund better understand local priorities and identify areas for future cooperation.

The meeting reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s continued guidance and support as TIF advances its activities across Member States.
