TIF President Meets with Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development

Kuwait City, 10 August 2026-H.E. Bagdad Amreyev, President of the Turkic Investment Fund held a meeting with H.E. Rashaid A. Al-Bader, Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).

The meeting that was attended also by H.E.Yerzhan Yelekeyev, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Kuwait and the delegation focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation between TIF and KFAED and identifying areas of mutual interest for future collaboration.

During the meeting, President Amreyev presented the Fund’s mandate, strategic priorities, and ongoing activities, highlighting TIF’s commitment to supporting sustainable economic development across its member countries through investments in infrastructure, transport and logistics, renewable energy, agriculture and agribusiness, digital transformation, and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

President Amreyev noted KFAED’s longstanding contribution to economic and social development in a number of TIF member countries and emphasized that the institution’s extensive experience in development finance creates a solid foundation for building a strong partnership between the two organizations. He highlighted project co-financing, project preparation, and knowledge exchange as promising areas for future cooperation.

The President of TIF also underlined the growing importance of cooperation among international development finance institutions. In this regard, he referred to KFAED’s active role within the Arab Coordination Group and highlighted TIF’s expanding engagement with several of its member institutions, including the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Fund for Development, and the OPEC Fund for International Development.

Welcoming the TIF delegation, Mr. Al-Bader reaffirmed KFAED’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with international development partners and expressed interest in exploring opportunities for collaboration with TIF. He emphasized the value of joint efforts in supporting impactful development projects and welcomed continued dialogue on areas of shared interest.

The parties agreed to maintain close consultations, explore the establishment of a formal framework for cooperation between the two institutions, and identify potential projects and initiatives for future collaboration.

The meeting marked an important step toward building a productive partnership between TIF and KFAED, aimed at supporting sustainable development and investment across the Turkic region and beyond.
