On October 14, 2026, on the sidelines of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), and Mr. M. Esat Mert, TIF Acting Chief Financial Officer, participated in a breakfast event organized in coordination with PwC and Fitch Ratings.

The discussions explored key strategic priorities for development finance institutions, including how to strengthen their capacity to deliver development outcomes while maintaining sound financial foundations. PwC highlighted the balance between development impact, financial sustainability and operational efficiency. Fitch Ratings focused on balance sheet optimization, tools to enhance capital utilization, and their implications for usable capital and credit rating considerations.

The event also featured a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Philipp Wackerbeck, providing a platform to exchange perspectives on the evolving priorities of development institutions and approaches to making more effective use of financial resources.

On the sidelines of the event, the TIF team engaged with representatives of Fitch Ratings - Mr. Carlos Masip Ordonez, Head of Supranational Ratings; Mr. Javier Serrano, Global Head of Sovereigns & International Public Finance; Ms. Elena Grindstaff, Senior Director - as well as FMO representatives Mr. Juan J.
