

TIF Attended the 16th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum in Istanbul
The President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, accompanied by Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director of TIF, attended the 16th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum (TAF16) held on 2 October 2025 in Istanbul. The event was hosted by the Minister of Treasury and Finance of Türkiye, H.E. Mehmet Şimşek, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, the Investment and Finance Office of Türkiye, the League of Arab States, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), and the Union of Arab Chambers.
Held under the theme “Three Bridges Connecting the World in Istanbul,” the meeting brought together senior government officials, institutional leaders, and representatives from the private sector. Participants focused on advancing regional stability, improving economic cooperation, and identifying opportunities for joint projects in third countries. Discussions covered key sectors, including investment, finance, banking, technology, energy, and construction.
In his opening address, Minister Şimşek highlighted Türkiye’s role in connecting regional and global economies, emphasizing the importance of financial cooperation and long-term investments. He noted that the Turkish-Arab partnership continues to strengthen, supported by emerging economic opportunities.
Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, emphasized that stronger cooperation and economic partnerships are vital for the prosperity of Türkiye and the Arab world. He highlighted the need to enhance trade, ease border crossings, and strengthen institutional frameworks, while encouraging joint investments to foster growth and stability across the region.
During the Forum, TIF President Baghdad Amreyev accompanied by the General Director Ramil Babayev held bilateral meetings with Mr. Osman Çelik, Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Türkiye; Dr. Khaled Hanafy, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers; Mr. M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB; Mr. Murat Efe, Founder and Chairman of the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum; and other government and private sector representatives. They discussed opportunities for joint initiatives and investments to strengthen economic cooperation in the Turkic countries. The meetings also focused on enhancing institutional collaboration and expanding trade and investment opportunities between the Turkic and Arab regions.
