TIF and UNCTAD Discuss Possible Cooperation on Entrepreneurship Development
On 15 December 2025, the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF) held an online meeting with Mr. Lorenzo Tosini, Empretec Programme Coordinator of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), to exchange views on cooperation in entrepreneurship development, with a particular focus on MSMEs.
The meeting was joined by Mrs. Betül Sarıkaya, Chief Financial OfficerChief Financial Officer; Mr. Zsolt Csanádi, Chief Legal and Operations Officer; Mr. Erhan Türbedar, Senior Advisor for Economic Affairs; Mr. Mirlan Shatmanov, Risk Manager; and Mr. Esat Mert, Director of International Relations and Capital Mobilization.
Mr. Erhan Türbedar moderated the meeting and briefed the UNCTAD representative on the Fund’s mandate and ongoing work. He also underlined one of TIF’s core priorities, namely supporting MSMEs and entrepreneurship as a practical channel for fostering economic growth and business development across Member States.
Mr. Lorenzo Tosini introduced UNCTAD’s Division on Investment and Enterprise, explaining its role in supporting UNCTAD Member States in strengthening enterprise development and entrepreneurship. Within that framework, he described the Empretec Programme as a central tool for building entrepreneurial capacity, and presented the programme in more detail, outlining its cooperation model and sharing observed outcomes based on UNCTAD’s experience.
During the discussion, participants identified several possible avenues for cooperation between TIF and UNCTAD’s Empretec Programme. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding to continue exchanges on practical cooperation in areas of common interest.
