The President of TIF Met the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development
On 17 June 2026, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF, the Fund), held a meeting with H.E. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), in Baku. The meeting took place during the 2026 IsDB Group Annual Meetings.
The President of TIF was accompanied by Ms. Betül Sarıkaya, Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Zsolt Csanádi, Chief Legal and Operations Officer; and Mr. Mehmet Esat Mert, Director of International Relations, Capital Mobilization, and Treasury.
The meeting focused on how TIF and SFD can move their dialogue toward concrete cooperation. The parties reviewed potential areas where their activities could complement each other and exchanged views on operational approaches and regional priorities.
H.E. Baghdad Amreyev noted that the previous meeting between the Heads of the two institutions held in Washington on October 2025 was useful first exchange and noted that TIF has since continued building its project pipeline and partner network. He said that TIF helps finance projects that connect its Member States, including in trade, transport, logistics, SMEs, digital links, agriculture, industry, tourism, and the green economy. He also recommended that co-financing should remain a top priority for TIF and SFD, as many projects in the region require more than one financial partner.
H.E. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad welcomed the continued dialogue with TIF and shared an overview of SFD’s work, including its experience in public sector projects and long-term development financing. He expressed SFD’s readiness to keep working with the Fund on areas of common interest. He noted that SFD values practical cooperation with partner institutions and is open to further discussions on project ideas and co-financing opportunities.
Both sides agreed that their teams should continue direct discussions and review areas where cooperation can start in a practical way.
