The delegation of TIF Attended Session on Kazakhstan at the EBRD Annual Meeting

On 5 June 2026, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF) and the General Director of TIF, Mr. Ramil Babayev attended the investment outlook session titled “Kazakhstan’s new investment cycle” during the 2026 Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), held in Riga, Latvia.

The session was moderated by Mr. Hüseyin Özhan, Managing Director for Central Asia and Mongolia at the EBRD and brought together senior representatives of the EBRD, the Government of Kazakhstan, national development institutions, and the private sector, including Mr. Dauren Kengbeil, Vice-Minister of Finance and EBRD Alternate Governor for Kazakhstan; Mr. Assan Darbayev, Vice-Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan;; Mr. Marat Yelibayev, Chairman of the Management Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan; Mr. Batyrbek Mashkeyev, CEO of Viva Pharm; and Mr. Sabri Can Bozkurt, Deputy General Manager of Rönesans Holding.

The discussion covered infrastructure modernization, energy development, pharmaceuticals, digital systems, industrial capacity, public-private partnerships, and Kazakhstan’s role in wider connectivity between Asia and Europe.

The session took place in the context of deepening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EBRD. During the Annual Meeting, Kazakhstan and the EBRD signed a new framework partnership agreement to expand cooperation in support of sustainable development, economic growth, infrastructure development, digitalization, private sector development, and the green economy.

For TIF, the session was of particular importance given Kazakhstan’s role as a founding Member State of the Fund. During his exchanges with representatives of the Government of Kazakhstan, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev noted that TIF will continue to engage with national and international partners on projects related to regional connectivity, infrastructure development, and private sector growth.
