On 4–5 September 2025, the President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, attended the 8th Astana Finance Days (AFD) in Kazakhstan’s capital, held under the auspices of the Astana International Forum (AIF).

Astana Finance Days brought together nearly 5,000 participants from more than 70 countries. The event convened professionals from the financial and technology sectors, investors, innovators, as well as representatives of government institutions and international organizations. This year’s theme, “Where Capital Empowers the Future”, focused on the effective use of resources to address climate change, support economic development, and encourage technological progress. The AFD Exhibition Hub provided a platform for companies in capital markets and digital innovation to present solutions, strengthen market presence, and build partnerships.

On 4 September, TIF President Baghdad Amreyev also attended the inaugural meeting of the Turkic Green Finance Council. In his address, he highlighted the growing importance of green finance for the global economy and for cooperation among the Turkic states. He emphasized green finance’s role in advancing climate action, energy transition, and sustainable growth, while stressing the need to channel resources toward renewable energy, clean production, and innovative technologies.

The President of TIF pointed out the importance of transparency, standards, and measurable results to ensure that green finance achieves real environmental outcomes. He noted that businesses adopting sustainable practices reduce emissions and gain competitiveness, attract investors, and build trust. He proposed the establishment of a Turkic Green Bond Framework to help mobilize capital, reduce financing costs, and give investors confidence in green-labelled instruments.

H.E. Baghdad Amreyev reaffirmed that TIF prioritizes projects that meet Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards and supports partnerships with national and international financial institutions. He underlined that green finance must be inclusive, supporting SMEs, women-led enterprises, young entrepreneurs, and local communities. He concluded by expressing full support for the Turkic Green Finance Council and its role in advancing a cleaner, more resilient, and competitive future for the Turkic states.

During the 8th Astana Finance Days, the President of TIF was accompanied by the Fund’s Chief Financial Officer, Mrs. Betül Sarıkaya; Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Sanjar Usmanov; Ambassador Bakhitbek Shabarbayev, Special Advisor for International Corporations; and Director of International Relations and Capital Mobilization, Mr. Esat Mert.
