President of TIF met Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister in Astana
H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), met with H.E. Kanat Bozumbayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in Astana on 5 January 2025.
The parties held discussions on opportunities for regional cooperation within the Fund’s mandate, considering initiatives that could contribute to economic integration among the TIF Member States.
The President of TIF briefed the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan on the main provisions of the Fund’s Investment Policy and its priorities for supporting regional projects that enhance connectivity, promote trade, and foster cross-border investments by co-financing with key regional and global financial institutions. He further added that TIF values close coordination with public institutions of its Member States to identify well-prepared project proposals with clear development impact.
Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev expressed his satisfaction with the activities of TIF and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s strong support for the Fund. He noted Kazakhstan’s interest in cooperation that can deliver feasible outcomes in regional development, including sustainable infrastructure, water management, and improved irrigation efficiency. He also noted the value of cooperation in project preparation and clear implementation planning to move ideas into workable proposals.
The parties agreed to maintain contact and support further technical exchanges to identify initiatives that can advance shared regional priorities of the Turkic countries.
