President of the Turkic Investment Fund Met JICA Senior Vice-Presidents

On 16 October 2025, during the IMF-WBG Annual Meetings, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), met with Mr. Shohei Hara, Senior Vice-President and Ms. Yuko Mitsui, Senior Vice-President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the JICA USA Office in Washington, D.C.

The President of TIF was joined by Mr. Ramil Babayev, General Director of TIF; Mrs. Betül Sarıkaya, Chief Financial Officer; Mr. Sanjar Usmanov, Chief Investment Officer; and Mr. M. Esat Mert, Director for International Relations and Capital Mobilization.

During the meeting, Baghdad Amreyev briefed JICA representatives on the TIF’s mission to contribute to the intra trade and cross border cooperation among Turkic states and spoke about Fund’s priority on boosting the connectivity of the Turkic region with the global economy.

The President of TIF emphasized the Fund’s goal to establish sound partnerships with international financial institutions.

TIF General Director R.Babayev elaborated on TIF’s current priorities regarding joint financing opportunities on project finance, and MSMEs lending and expressed the interest of the Fund to work with JICA on practical initiatives in several sectors, noting that TIF and JICA share common objectives.

Mr. Shohei Hara, Senior Vice-President of JICA, welcomed TIF’s interest in partnership. He said JICA values cooperation that brings together local insight and development experience. He noted that JICA’s work in infrastructure, transportation and SME financing aligns well with TIF’s objectives. Mr. Hara expressed his readiness to explore possible co-financing opportunities with TIF.

Parties agreed to maintain dialogue and shared their confidence that establishing collaboration between TIF and JICA would contribute to sustainable development across the Eurasian region.
