Delegation of TIF visited the Alat Free Economic Zone

On 18 June 2026, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), accompanied by TIF General Director Mr, Ramil Babayev and Chief Investment Officer Sanjar Usmanov visited the Headquarters of the Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ) in Baku.

The TIF delegation was welcomed by Mr. Valeh Alasgarov, Chairman of the Board of The discussion covered investment opportunities in industrial projects, with particular attention to regional connectivity, sustainable development, and private sector growth.

H.E. Baghdad Amreyev said the visit to AFEZ was useful as TIF continues to develop practical work across its Member States, including Azerbaijan. He noted that direct exchanges with institutions such as AFEZ help the Fund better understand project opportunities that may fit its mandate.

Mr. Valeh Alasgarov briefed the President of TIF on AFEZ’s role in Azerbaijan’s economic diversification and its offer to international investors. He highlighted the Zone’s legal framework, incentives, strategic location, and developed industrial infrastructure, including land plots with utilities for high value added and export-oriented production.

The parties agreed to continue exchanges and to identify areas where cooperation between TIF and AFEZ may be developed.
