
Turkic States Launched the Turkic Investment Promotion Network at TIIF 2025

The President of the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF), H.E. Baghdad Amreyev, participated in the Astana International Forum (AIF), held on 29–30 May under the theme Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future. The AIF brought together over 1,000 participants from more than 70 countries, including heads of state, government representatives, business leaders, and experts from international organizations and academia. The agenda focused on pressing global challenges, including climate change, energy security, trade, innovation, and sustainable development.
The AIF was opened by H.E. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who underscored the need to preserve cooperation amid rising protectionism and geopolitical fragmentation. He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to multilateralism and dialogue.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also addressed participants, noting the strategic importance of EU-Central Asia relations and economic cooperation, especially in the energy and critical raw materials sectors.
President of TIF, Mr. Baghdad Amreyev, participated in the AIF plenary session “The Challenges of Reconstruction: Towards a New Balance in the Middle East,” In his speech, Amreyev emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between Middle Eastern countries, Central Asia, and Türkiye, and stressed that the lasting recovery in the Middle East requires a comprehensive approach that integrates good governance, inclusive development, and institutional resilience. Amreyev also underlined the key role of international financial institutions in fostering sustainable solutions that are locally driven, transparent, and responsive to the real needs of communities.
On the sidelines of the Astana International Forum, Mr. Baghdad Amreyev held talks with high representatives of governments and international financial institutions, including Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, Minister of Finance of Sultanate of Oman Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, Minister of Energy and infrastructure of United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev, First Vice President of EBRD Jürgen Rigterink, the World Bank Regional Vice President Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani, Vice President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Konstantin Limitovskiy, and others.
The discussions with government officials and representatives of international organizations focused on deepening existing cooperation and exploring future opportunities in support of shared objectives.
In the meetings of the President of TIF Amreyev with the representatives of international financial institutions the parties expressed interest in collaboration through regular contact, participation in institutional events, and closer coordination.
Representatives of international financial institutions (IFIs) agreed to maintain open working communications with TIF, including with the country offices of these international financial institutions in Türkiye and other TIF member states.
The TIF President and IFI representatives expressed a common interest in exploring co-financing opportunities and joint projects. They highlighted the value of leveraging complementary strengths to support development and advance sustainable investment across Central Asia and other TIF member states.
